Get Sirius !

It's time to get Sirius! No, that's not a spelling error. Did you ever wonder why we start the new year on January 1 and not on 12/22, the winter solstice when it should start? The reason is that on 12/31 at midnight, the sun will be directly under our feet on the other side of earth and the star "Sirius", the brightest star in the night sky, will be at the midheaven, 12 pm, directly overhead.

It's on this day Jan 1, and at this time, 12:00 am, that earth is at it's closestpoint to Sirius.

Many astronomers believe that we are in a binary solar system, meaning that we have two suns, and that our entire solar system revolves around Sirius every 26,000 or so years. Sirius is the biblical "star in the east" that is followed by the "3 wise men" which are the 3 stars in the belt of the constellation Orion. These 3 stars align directly with Sirius and point to the exact spot on the horizon where the sun will rise on 12/21. Don't believe me? Go outside tonight and look up and east and there Orion and Sirius will be there, waiting, in all their majesty as they have been for millions and millions of years.

And so it goes that the 3 wise men follow the star in the east to locate the birth of the son (sun).

PS … that star you put on top of your Christmas tree…. that's Sirius! Happy New Year!

PSS… The barn, or "manger" as it's called, that you put under your christmas symbolizes the birth of the SUN on the cusp of the constellation Capricorn on 12.21. That's why the son (SUN) is born between Capricorn, the goat, and Sagitarius, the horse.

PSSS, If Orion's belt and Sirius pointed to Libra on 9/21, Catholics would have claimed Jesus was born in a courtroom with a women judge, and present would have been the 12 jurors and not animals.
